Recently created, WeConsulting is a boutique compliance consulting firm based in Guatemala with offices in Toronto, Canada, currently offering remote and hybrid services to organisations across the globe in the non-financial industry.

Our clients are both, emerging firms and established ones, sharing the same belief as ours: making things better with Compliance as the basis and also as an opportunity for a long-term success and sustainability.

We are active members of the World Compliance Association in Guatemala.

Marcela Martínez

Marcela is an economist with an MSc in Finance with over 10 years of professional experience in Finance, Compliance and Risk Management in Guatemala and the USA.  She has worked with companies as BAA, Grupo Financiero BAC COM, and Grupo Pantaleón.

She is also a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist (CAMLS) and a Certified ISO 37301 Provisional Auditor. Her continued interest on Risk Management got her to obtain the COSO Enterprise Risk Management Certificate, and the Executive Diploma on the International Program in Compliance and Control Management from IE Law School.  She is also a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) and of the International Association of Privacy Professionals in Canada. She also volunteers with the Standards Council of Canada as member expert of the TC 309 - Governance of the Organizations and TC 262 - Risk Management.

You can find her either playing and chasing her toddler with her husband at different playgrounds, or working remotely with her clients at different time zones.

ernesto álvarez

Ernesto is a civil engineer with over 20 years of professional experience in Contracts & Claims Management in the construction sector.  Over the last 15 years, he has been on international mega projects in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Australia, managing diverse multicultural teams.  

His vast knowledge and experience has led him to work with companies as Siemens Energy, Sacyr, Grupos Unidos por el Canal, Grupo Cobra and WeBuild (previously Salini-Impregilo and Astaldi). He is also certified on Claims Preparation & Dispute Management.

You can find him either playing with his sons at different playgrounds or video games, or enjoying a good glass of red wine with his wife.
